There\'s a new game in town

Class of 2012 graduate Brigid Allanson, just returned from PAX East, where as part of Ackk Studios she helped unveil their new independently developed video game Y II K.

Brigid created the poster as well as additional artwork for the game. Previously, Brigid was part of the development team for Ackk Studios first game Two Brothers.

Portfolio Review Season

As winter turns slowly to spring here in North Jersey the graduating class of 2014 is being kept very busy with a series of professional portfolio reviews.

On March 19th, the entire third year class traveled to New York City to visit the editorial offices of Valiant Entertainment. Each student portfolio was individually reviewed by one of Valiant's editors.

The following week by arrangement with the publishers our graduating class submitted e-mail portfolios to IDW Publishing and BOOM Studios for review by their editorial staff.

On April 2nd, the graduating class will take another trip to Manhattan to visit the editorial offices of DC Comics and meet with Art Director Mark Chiarello and a team of editors for individual review of their portfolios. 

On Friday, April 11th comic book publishers Zenescope Entertainment and Dynamite Entertainment will be sending editors to our school here in Dover to review the portfolios of the third year class.

Additionally, on April 16th Marvel Comics will be sending an editor to visit the school for individual review of all our graduating student's portfolios.

Adam Kubert will be signing at The Kubert School booth #526 on Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 to 4:30. Adam will also lead a panel discussion on The Kubert School, on Saturday the 22nd from 2:30 to 3:10 in room S310AB.


The very talented Carli Ihde (Class of 2011) has provided animation for a video of the song Adieu.

This was for broadcast on episode 5 of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's television program HITRECORD. 

Carli's work appears at the :52, 1:19, 1:40 and 1:48 marks.

International cartoonist visits The Kubert School

Class of 1984 graduate Tayo Fatunla will be visiting the school on Tuesday February 4th. 

the London based cartoonist will give a talk to the students and talk about his career and experiences as an internationally published cartoonist.

Tayo was the first international student to arrive at our school from Africa. His work appears in the weekly British magazine West Africa and his own comic strip, Our Roots which is a visual history of Africa and Africans.

In Father\'s Footsteps

Andy Kubert, vice president and instructor at The Kubert School is the focus of a recent news articles due to his latest project DAMIAN: SON of BATMAN.

This project is noteworthy because this is Andy's debut as a writer.
