The well-being and health of our students, staff, and faculty are our top priority. To support our students’ financial well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kubert School is providing emergency financial aid grants to eligible students from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. To comply with reporting requirements and to offer transparency to our community, we are providing details about our use of these funds.

Emergency Financial Aid Grants
Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1)
of the CARES Act as of May 14, 2020
1. On April 15, 2020, the Kubert School signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement for Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding and intends to use no less than 50 percent of the funds received under § 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
2. The Kubert School has received $52,672.00 from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
3. $52,672.00 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants have been distributed to eligible students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of May 14, 2020 (30-day Report as requested by the Department.)
4. An estimated 68 students at the Kubert School are eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the Cares Act.
5. 61 students have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
6. The Kubert School used the following method to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants under § 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
- All Eligible students must complete the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students Under the Coronavirus AID, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Application Form, which was provided to every eligible student. This form allows the student to acknowledge how they were impacted from COVID-19.
All Eligible Students who completed the application form by the deadline will receive grant money, split evenly.
Eligible Students:
Students who are or could be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), may receive emergency financial aid grants. If a student has filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), then the student has demonstrated eligibility to participate in programs under Section 484 the HEA. Students who have not filed a FAFSA but who are eligible to file a FAFSA also may receive emergency financial aid grants. The criteria to participate in programs under Section 484 of the HEA include but are not limited to the following: U.S. citizenship or eligible noncitizen; a valid Social Security number; registration with Selective Service (if the student is male); and a high school diploma, GED, or completion of high school in an approved homeschool setting.
