WORKSHOPS How to Draw The Female Figure for Comics Instructor: Maria Laura Sanapo In Person and Online Monday October 3rd - Wednesday October 5th 6-8PM ET Price $200 Learn the importance of the female figure in comics, from basic construction to dynamic figures interacting with their environments! Maria Laura Sanapo is an Italian comic artist and illustrator. Maria has worked for Warner Bros Entertainment, DC Comics and Dynamite, illustrating titles including DC Bombshells, Wonder Woman, Batwoman, Vampirella, Red Sonja. The Fundamentals of Sequential Composition Instructor: Marco Santucci In Person and Online Monday October 3rd – Wednesday October 5th 6-8PM ET Price $200 Learn the elements and factors that make a single or series of images effective in telling a story. Marco Santucci is an Italian comic book artist. Marco has worked for DC Comics, Marvel, Sergio Bonelli Editore, Dynamite and Titan on titles such as Justice League, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Captain America. Painting for Comics Instructor: Marco Cutrone In-Person Mondays – October 10 – November 14th Time: 6-8PM Price: $200 This class is a further examination of color use as an essential component of illustration and storytelling, with instruction in various oil painting techniques. We will study color and how it enhances the strength of cartoon imagery. This course is a color intensive class as we study monochromatic color schemes to complimentary, triadic, double-complimentary, analogous, split complimentary, and or tetradic color and how it works. This class will also dive into color harmonies, saturation and value and what pulls color together for a stronger aesthetic in comics. Contrast in Drawing Instructor: Marco Cutrone In-Person Wednesdays – October 12 – November 16th Time: 6-8PM Price: $200 Black and white drawings don’t have to be grey and bland. This course will delve into a tennebristic approach to train your eye to develop strong contrasts which can be created with a pencil. Chiaroscuro (dark and light) will be studied and applied, as we will learn the greyscale and all of the necessary qualities to optimize your black and white renderings, in order to make them the best they can be.
