Congratulations are due to 2009 Kubert School graduate Tamra Bonvillian, who won the appellation of Best Colorist, at the 2019 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards.
The Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards is an annual celebration of the creativity, skill and fun of comics. The nomination ballot is determined by fans and pros alike.
Michael Lance Wieringo (June 24, 1963 - August 12, 2007), who often signed his work Ringo, was an American comic book artist best known for his work on DC Comics' The Flash, Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four, and his co-creation Tellos.

The Kubert School is proud to announce that award-winning writer Erica Schultz will join its illustrious faculty starting with the 2019-20 school year.
Erica is a comic book writer, editor and publisher. She has chronicled the adventures of such well-known characters as Daredevil, Xena: Warrior Princess, the sisters of Charmed, and Hawkgirl. She is also the co-creator and publisher of M3, which is the 2012 winner of the Burbank International Film Festival for Best Comic Book. She has worked for companies such as DC Entertainment, Marvel Entertainment, Image Comics, and Dynamite Entertainment. She will be teaching Story Adaptation and Writing and Imaginative Drawing.

We are proud to welcome Amy Chu to our teaching staff.
The Kubert School is proud to announce that Amy Chu will be another addition to its faculty in the 2019-20 school year. “To be joining such an illustrious faculty at this legendary institution is a dream come true,” said Chu. “I’m looking forward to working with the third year students to teach them the basic business survival skills that every creator needs.” Amy Chu is a professional writer for DC Entertainment, Marvel Entertainment, other comic book publishers, and most recently, Netflix. Her work includes Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Red Sonja, X-Men, Ant-Man and Deadpool. She is also the co-founder of Alpha Girl Comics, publisher of Girls Night Out, The VIP Room, and Meridien City. She is a frequent guest and speaker at comic conventions around the world. Chu received dual degrees from Wellesley College (East Asian Studies) and MIT (Architectural Design) and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She has many years of start up and business consulting experience, including serving as the Executive Director of the Asian American Arts Alliance where she provided management and technical assistance to artists and arts organizations. She will be teaching Business of Art/On-the-Job.

Kubert School Boasts new additions
The Kubert School is proud to announce its newest additions to its illustrious faculty for the 2019-20 school year. Taylor Esposito is a freelance letterer for numerous publishers (DC Comics, Dynamite, and Legendary). He is also a former staff letterer for DC and production artist/digital compositor for Marvel Entertainment. He operates his own graphic design business specializing in logo design, lettering, and comic book production. He will be teaching Lettering and Digital Production. The Kubert School also welcomes John Hazard, who is returning to the faculty. He is a flash designer for Nick.com and Rare Medium Group. He has also been an art director for Nickelodeon (ROMEO) and National Internet Services. He has also worked as a freelance artist for Hirsch International. He will be teaching Intro to Animation and Humor & Caricature.

Adam Kubert and the Kubert School will be attending Fanfaire NYC, on February 16th and 17th.
